still can't sleep and came across a thought... dedicated to a friend!!!

After catching up with all the updates with friends in FB I came across a post about a friend showing joy effect on mint and so what pops in my busy bee thoughts??? An old drink! Mint Julep! I am not a fan of mint, like Mojito and Mint Julep but I wouldn't mind serving it for friends.

Mint Julep

4 fresh mints sprigs

2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey

1 tsp powder sugar

2 tsp water

Monday is almost here. Time to get ready, prepare food for the week and finish up with laundry and the only thing I can think about is the recipe for Lynchburg Lemonade. This is one drink we love getting at Jellyrolls, a fun place to share with friends and family with music and drinks and great entertainers. Cover charge for $10 and $9.00 for the lemonade and get a night full of fun and laughter(laugghter comes after you learn all those dance they teach you while you are there). Well now I think my next homework will be trying to make the lemonade, I 1st love this drink when a friend came from new orleans for a vacation and brought some mix from an O'brien type of brand!

So far this is the one I kept on getting when I do a search for the recipe:

LynchBurg Lemonade

1 part Jack Daniel's

1 part sweet and sour mix

1 part Triple Sec

4 parts Sprite

(woohoo thank God for Sprite Zero)

For now that will be on my to do list. I need to learn to make a good sweet and sour mix first and make this the way my tastebud s will love.

The Blender was Ecstatic last night!

Saturday!!! One of two days of relaxation! Originally I was supposed to see some friends and have a merry 'ol time but with the economy and the way the Quarry offers extra hours well let's just say if they offer you better grab it for you dont know when will be the next time it will be posted again! After a long day at the Quarry, no major back breaking assignment, we just had to move one boulder to another and make sure no marks or sign of the move shows come Monday and in between we were able and allowed with free lunch to play hooky!!! But let us not discuss what we had for lunch :) Work is over and everybody was still out partying, neighbor's house was quiet, nobody was answering calls so what is the next best thing to do go check the Aisle of Wine and Spirits!. After a few laps of going back and forth deciding on who will go home.. Leblon won! By the time I got home is when I felt all the work I did LOL and took a liesurely nap.

Frozen Batida happened!!! It is very smooth frozen drink. The Kiwi and the Pineapple really made it a nice summery drink. If this is how Rio De Jaeniro taste I dont wonder why it is a fun happening place to be!. Every sip (Gulp is more like it) you can feel how the fruit and the milk and maybe the alcohol also are happily mixed together!. I truly suggest that you have to serve this when you have a Picnic, a Summer wedding, or just a day at the pool with your girlfriends while that cabana boy is buys cleaning the Pool!!!

Coffee and Blender...

Well my day was productive! I learned another brand/drink that I know I would want to try. Tia Maria!!! It sounds very promising. I know I said the same thing about Fernet and you know what I am giving Fernet another chance. I am going to find that perfect mix for that drink till it does not taste like an alligators bile... wait a minute does an alligator have a bile ??? If there is I never have tried it, it just sound nasty and almost appropriate to how I felt when I chug Fernet, more on the 2nd shot though!!! Yes I admit... I even tried it the 2nd time hoping that maybe the 1st time was a LIE!!! A LIE!!! Anyway going back to Tia Maria, I really like the story behind the production of this drink, Love, Family and Honor. Unless I was just yet again mesmerized with the bottle then I could be wrong. I think Tia Maria has alot of potential in making a good cocktail drink when entertaining. One of the most famous search I have found was the Tia and Cola (which is also great when you use the Starbucks Liqueur and Coke zero), then there's the MojiTia!!! Catchy name huh! And doing the Kingston Rocks... Whoa!!! I have all that in my fridge as we speak! Sweet Sour Mix, Sugar Syrup and Club Soda the only thing missing is Tia! And what about some Tia Colada!!! I am really liking this more and more!!! Wonder if they take trade in for the Fernet LOL!!! Oh My and a Tia Maria Russian! And the simplest mix of all Tia Breeze, Tia and Cranberry! And I think me and Vai Maria will just get along fine... 1 part Tia Maria, Vanilla Vodka and Cola!!!! That has my name all over it!!! Well as you notice no picture is added since I dont have any clue on when I will capture Tia Maria and lock her in my embrace but as soon as I do and hopefully it will not be long then a proper picture of TM will be posted! For now lets all remisnice the emotions we had experience with Fernet!!! Bwahahahahahaa!!!

I bet if my Blender can talk it would be saying "I told you so!". As mentioned in previous post. A friend from the Quarry gave me a Fernet Branca and was so excited for me to try his favorite drink. Well I got Fernet last night took home and was not able to do anything about it since Quarry was packed!. Tonight was a different story. Got home and grab a container of mommy's special frozen dinner and some brown rice. Enjoyed that meal since I have been on Detox since Aug. 14!!! And what's the best thing to do after a meal... drink Fernet which is considered a digestif !!! So I poured a shot, me trying to be a "purist" on 1st taste!!! Whoa!!! I felt the earth move under my skin.. wait thats a song yeah it was C R A Z Y !!! Taste like some sort of mouthwash filling the pathway of your esophagus opening up... warming up and finally hitting the belly!!!!!!!! Oh Mylanta (My friend Pete loves to say this and it was the perfect thing to say after a shot of Fernet!). I guess from here on I will definetely use Fernet for its medicinal purposes ( face is still warm as I type this!!!) such as relief for menstrual cramps, gastrointestinal irritation, cholera, infant cholic and truly understand why they say it is a GREAT cure for HANGOVER!!! A shot of Fernet and chase with Gingerale!! it will get you bouncing back to life wether you like it or not! Atleast I have this for back up... drink all the Vodka mixed with tequilla even hit a bottle of rum or two Arrrrrr... the next day hangover did you say ??? Have a shot of Fernet its in the bathroom in my medicine cabinet. On that note I need to turn the AC on. This is giving me an induced hot flashes!!!

Goodnight, sweet dreams no belly ache tonight I tell you! LoL

The Blender might be working none stop next week but with an occasional break!

Well hopefully one day I will be able to check all of the above!!! For now I will settle for a Fernet Branca a gifr from a friend! Life is grand!

Ok... As I was laboring at the Quarry I happened to mention to one of my Co-Quarry that I am learning some stuff about drinks and here he is introducing me to another soon to be good friend! Fernet Branca! I never heard of it but after research in the net I got the impression that it is the expensive version of a Cafe Liqueur but then when I check Starbucks' price it is not cheap either. I do have the Starbucks but it was a birthday gift. And now this Fernet Branca was a post birthday gift. I know it has been 4 months since I celebrated but my birthday but who am I to stoppede anybody who wants to give me a gift for turning PlentyNine! I get Fernet B. on Monday and sad to say I have the whole week to wait before I can test it.

The Blender is tingling!

Ok... I should be studying now for a quiz but I just remembered this from the discussion and definitely need to try it!!! Debating though save the money and buy the whole bottle or just go to the Melting Pot Restaurant who serves it and try it there!!! Ohhh Decisions decisions!!! And really kicking myself because I have seen this at Fogo de Chao, did peak my interest but got hypnotized with desserts that totally forgot to order it then!!!

From the Leblon Website.. learned about the Batida Portuguese word for a Frozen Cocktail

Kiwi Pineapple Batida

6oz Leblon Cachaca

4oz condensed milk

2 kiwi

4 large chunks pineapple

alot of ice

fill the belnder with alot of ice add all above ingredient

blend till smooth

and garnish with a fruit

Contemplating about the Blender in Savanah!

Well, as I was already tired of thinking of the sssssstuff thats going on with my life... I decided to make a flow chart in my mind on what I will be doing in 2 months and some days! I truly need this train of thought, it's all happy, fun and lots of blender noise kind of thought. Basically I need to concoct a list of alcohol that can blend in nicely with different mixes "grin"!!! I know the main staple would be of tequilla and vodka and I think this time I will stick to the old fashion plain no unflavored liquior!!! With the exception of the peach Stoli!!! Ohhhhhhh these drinks gives me happy thoughts which I need to reroute in studying since I have a quiz tomorrow about 2 ounces cocktails!!! And what am I doing ?? Dreaming about it!!

So basically thats how my day was. Went to school for a couple of hours, went to work, got home planned to study but instead I sat infront of the PC watched some reruns and now grinning from ear to ear thinking about friends from the south.

Enough mumbling, will go through the lecture today and pray that I remember something for the quiz tomorrow. As much as I read the classified ads the more I am hoping I will be able to use some of the courses I have been taking.

The Blender has been clean and washed...

And it has been a very trying day. Even after the Blender have been polished and as shiny as a new nickel... it still does not feel right... must be the weather. It is 90 degrees but with humidity it feels like 100.

If you have an extra pixiedust mind sending some my way... the marigolds are taking a breather and on vacation...

The Blender worked Overtime last night.

Today marked the 1st day of detox and eating right again not that I ate wrong the past 90 days but it was more we ate alot and really used the Blender alot. Mom was on vacation with me and it is one of the things I pray that maybe eventually she will decide to stay here and just visit other family member rather than the other way around.

On a brighter note. The regular Blender is really on sabatical and had just went back in using the "Bullet". What I like about it is being able to do a single serve. Today I prepared 4 separate serving for different meal and snack. And it is as follows:

breakfast - in a bullet one with soft tofu, spinach, honey and pineapple

snack was for bullet two total of 4 ounces of berries with honey.

Lunch I had cute 4 ounces of steack sauteed with brocolli, red peppers and green peppers and onion.

snack again was cottage cheese and peaches... and lots of water.

I should be eating dinner as we speak but not really hungry.

Well I guess for now the Beldner page will also set as my food journal... but dont worry my diets dont last long.. so hopefully I can post better stories next time...

Its almost Monday... I hope everybody is ready for another work week!

Alone time with the Blender....

The day in the Quarry was Ok, nothing to complain about. Everything was in a steady flow. So while the brain was bored... it ventured out in much more exciting thoughts and ideas such as VACATION!!! So far the ducks are all lined up, maybe missing a couple more ducks but it will happened as the time gets closer. So far it will be yet again a high octane days with no pay! But cannot complain, I look forward to this gathering every year of course seconde to my Spring Holiday. Which lead me to wondering how much alone time do I really want and or have in my life. There are times I enjoy not having to say anything in a day and there would be times that I yearn for company. Which brought on the second question in my mind... Do I really have friends or just aquiantances. Honestly I am not sure. There are a handful of people whom I think are my great friends even more like family and I hope they feel the same way. Then I started laughing out loud... I am Ok as long as I have my blender! And I dont even get drunk!

It is now Wednesday... TGIW!!!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeello Monday!

Well the weekend is over and honestly nothing exciting happened. The "bad" dreams slowed down a bit... The last dream was this morning, all I remember from it was a dark hallway and it opens at the end of the hallway in a room... very bright and very busy. In the room a few rows of bed and across it were individual dresser. Everybody was busy looking for their pair of Levi Jeans! Yes!!! Levi's!!! One conversation I remember was this guy was saying to another guy " Dude I like Levi's coz it makes my butt look good" LoL I know crazy! Me??? I was holding unto this pair and I know it was not mine and it has a cigarette hole at the seam. Debating if I will just leave it on the bed or place it back in "My" cabinet! I know right! Right and wrong what to do! But the mental thought was cut off with me seeing a woman who resembles a friend of mine... "ANG" talking to his son Ash! Discussing about the jeans. I know in real life Ash wears Levi's. Then the alarm clock went off and it was time to go to the weekend Quarry! The end!

to much rice before going to bed...

Woke up about 30 minutes ago from a bad dream. While dreaming it felt like I was really there , like it was real time.

It started like this: We were in my kitchen( not my real kitchen but a kitchen in my apartment in my dream). There were two other character who I dont recognize from real life John Doe and Jane Doe. The way I sensed it me and Jane Doe where already friends, we were planning a trip. Like a trip involving plays and shows at broadway. The dream progress us walking towards a bldg where there were lines waiting to see the concierge. By the time we got to the concierge we had a list of shows that we wanted to see but the concierge express what they only have. There a couple of shows I found I like but John and Jane decided to just pick what they like most and expect me to just say yes. By the time the auction (it felt like an auction) we all head back to our apt. and there I said I am not going anymore and realized that they were a couple already. So finally the dream escalated to argument on how we are paying the rent how the fridge will have this line my side and their side and I was arguing about the rent needed to be split in 3 and not 2 so with the electric bill and the water bill. I woke up at this part where I told them "Fine I will just look for anothewr roomie" there I also realized the apt is under my name and Jane who was my friend before John came along after we became friends.. I walked out the apt and thats when I woke up!!!

Do you have a dream book ??? Anybody have time to dissect my dream ??? Crazy I know. Does dreams really mean anything or are they unexpress events from your day before. Because if I am to relate this dream to what had happened last night it almost felt like it was connected.

Ok... warm milk is ready... will try to get back to sleep.

TGIF... really???

Well another week is almost over and I really dont know what happened to mine. I went to the Quarry the whole week including later today till the clock start ticking for a new day.

Thursday was a high octane kind of day. I started clearing some stuff in the closet and try to sell it on craig's list, Ebay, Etsy etc. After settling all my chores off I go to see Mr. Toad LoL...

The Quarry was not bad either. I was able to catch up with things with a couple of friends. And at the same time sad, no need to go in details but the moral lesson is "No need to worry what color bra your friend is wearing if it doesnt match her outfit you really have to tell her!" So yes I know the truth hurts but I rather tell you now than later, why ???? coz I might forget later Hehehehehe

I have been brainstorming.... but nothing... nothing good comes up... I need to find something I can do and make money out of it. Like those backyard discovery of PC... starting Yahoo... Tweeter etc. "sigh" And am tired of wishing to win the Lottery! So what do you suggest ???

BTW... Aswaghanda is still on the table, so far good results came out of it even with my mom's bloodwork, that and lessening the cigarette intake it looks like the CLL is slowing down...

still no Blender...

Yes you read the title right! The Blender is still down, on sabatical, on vacation, out of order!!! And have been making drinks on the ROCKS... just like this weekend. 1st went out to meet some good friends at the outlet to discuss vacation plans. I love hanging out with these ladies. We all met online but have bonded as great friends. We have an upcoming event to go see the World and explore what it can offer! Going to check whole Showcase! After the meet me and my mother was able to do a little window shoping and no we did not bring any windows home. The budget wont let us!

Sunday was a day of recuperating.... we slept in, watch TV and argue. I guess the day will not be complete without without a discussion. After a long day of silence I got ready and ask if mom still want to watch a movie and of course she still does. We went and see The Sorcerer's Apprentice. The explosion were great, the story line was ok it just got a little boring in after the 2/3 part of the movie. And also I think they could have used a better "Dave" what do you think ???

Well now I am trying to end the day killing time watching shows at Hulu.com. I dont have cable and now with Hulu I think I will never will.

Let's see what Monday brings us!

I am glad for friends... Thanks BinF for stopping by. I know there is nothing much to check and see but it is nice to know neighbors do come by and visit...

Well its "Thank God Wednesday" is over and now its Thirstday!!! Two more shifts and I can play in the kitchen with the "Bullet". I just realized recently that I have one. A couple of years back a friend from work got me the dual server Bullet and just found it on top of the closet recently. Why was I digging well, my Kitchen Aid have a booboo. And good thing I did not throw it out yet. I really thought it is done, dead, goodbye, sayonara etc. So I was checking out Ebay if I can sell the Pitcher part well only then I learn I can buy that little part that broke along with a tool kit and it will be good as new!

Anyway... I know if there is someone out there reading this you are wondering where the title came from. Again as you get to know me you will then understand the reason to all my madness.

I am also excited in starting this blog. It is like a new chapter where the old chapter(old blog) has been closed and am at the dawn of a new beginning.... yeah right!

Also along the way I will be sharing stuff I try from drinks to food to vitamins! You can say that I talk to much and yes thank you technology for inventing blogs! Now I can run my mouth to no ends and noone ca say shut up... you just dont have to read Me...hahahahaa...
